Action in the Republic Youth Cup heats up!

Port of Spain, Trinidad April 10, 2018: After a break for the Easter weekend, the Republic Cup National Youth Football League was back in full swing, with action taking place across all zones; North, East and South. The country’s oldest and biggest youth football tournament provided both top flight football and an abundance of goals last weekend.

In the North Zone, twelve games were played with the Trendsetter Hawks impressively disposing of all rivals in the Under – 12 , Under – 14 and Under – 16 divisions, respectively, while QPCC Blue also had a good showing easily dismissing the TT Maestros 8-1 in the Under – 12 category and 6-1 in the Under – 14.

In the meantime, in the East Zone, Cunupia Extreme were the dominant force in the Under – 12 and Under – 14 divisions, first trouncing Empowered Youth 5-0 then sending Express FC SS packing with a 7-1 licking. In the Under – 16 category, Adrenaline FA beat Pelota FC 7-2 with Malabar Young Stars thrashing Copper’s Cricket Academy 7-0.

In the Southland, Giving Back FC did just that, give goals galore, usurping their dominance in all divisions defeating Tiny Mikes 10-0 in the Under – 12 and in the Under -14 Princes Town S.A. were on their way with 6-0 defeat. In the Under – 16, Tyrell Ganga put two goals away to send the Instyle Boys & Girls Academy home 3-0.
