Republic Bank’s Power To Make A Difference Supports Chosen Hands

Port-of-Spain, Trinidad, October 28, 2020: Committed to building sustainable communities, Republic Bank’s Power to Make a Difference programme contributes TTD$200,000.00 to the Chosen Hands Initiative. Chosen Hands incorporates an art and wellness methodology where mentoring and personal development professionals use their expertise to help vulnerable youths achieve their true potential.

Creative Director, Anika Plowden-Corentin conceptualized this initiative and saw the need to use her innate talent, skills and network to positively impact the lives of at risk youths. Using art and self-expression as her vehicle of choice Anika was able to capture the hearts and minds of at risk youths at the St. Jude’s home pilot project (May to September 2018) with the support, and financial contribution and participation in kind of many generous individuals, friends, organizations and well-wishers. Through the success of this pilot programme, Chosen Hands has empowered many at-risk youth to thrive, radically changing the trajectory of their lives through innovative education that gives them the emotional intelligence to overcome the challenges they face.
