Trendsetter Hawks Clutch 2018 Republic Cup League Titles

Port of Spain, Trinidad July 9, 2018: The 2018 the Republic Cup National Youth Football League came to an exciting end with the Trendsetter Hawks dominating the finals. The Hawks took home two of the three titles up for grabs at the finals on Saturday July 7, at the Hasely Crawford Stadium.

In the Under 12 category, with two North Zone teams squaring off, the Hawks drew first blood when Antonio Sealey scored in the 16th minute. QPCC wasn’t going to be pushed over easily, however, as Addae Paponette equalised in the 38th minute. But the Hawks, intent on victory, scored in the 45th minute to guarantee their first place in the standings.

Meanwhile, in the Under 14 division, the East Zone’s Trincity Nationals made meal of Tobago’s Jaric Titans, defeating them 3-0. Omari Flanders showed why he was awarded the title of Under 14 MVP scoring a double in the 16th and 37th minutes, with a Keshawn Lashley penalty effectively shutting out the Titans in the 45th minute.

To close the day’s proceedings, the Under 16’s took to the field, once again the Hawks stamped their dominance all over the QPCC. A single item from their MVP, Josiah Edwards, in the 59th minute, sealed the deal as they held on to a 1-0 victory.
