On your marks! Sea to Sea Marathon returns to Tobago

Port of Spain, Trinidad March 13, 2018: The first of two media launches for The Tobago International Sea to Sea Marathon 2018 was held on Monday March 12, at the Jacobin Room Magdalena Grand Beach & Golf Resort, Tobago. The second launch will take place in Trinidad on March 22.

The marathon, in its 3rd year, will take place on May 19 & 20 on our beautiful sister isle has attracted runners and visitors from Trinidad, the Caribbean region and around the World for a full weekend of activities with 5K and 10K races, and a half and full marathon.

On behalf of the Bank, Shedley Branche, Area Manager, Tobago said, “Of course, we are also responsible for ensuring that our young people and all of our people really, are living the longest, healthiest lives that they possibly can by getting them engaged in sport and regular physical activity. So it gives us special pride to see that the Sea to Sea Marathon has attracted such a strong following among young persons. We are really looking forward to seeing them take up the challenge of the Sea to Sea Marathon course for another year, because we know they will benefit tremendously from participating alongside other local and international athletes and from a cultivating a love for and commitment to the sport.”

The race course is certified by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) and the Association of International Marathons (AIMS). The event is supported through the Republic Bank Power to Make a Difference social responsibility programme, which celebrates its 15th anniversary this year. It focuses largely on the positive development of our youth through educational, cultural and sporting initiatives, such as this one.
