This account is all about celebrating the power of electronic banking at Republic Bank Limited. With e-Free, you will enjoy the following:

  • No monthly service charges.
  • Three free in-branch debits every month.

RepublicOnboard is specifically tailored for citizens of Trinidad and Tobago. Only individuals who hold citizenship in Trinidad and Tobago can utilize this platform. If you are a foreign national, kindly proceed to your preferred branch to facilitate your request.

You must be eighteen (18) years and older to open an account via RepublicOnboard. To open an account for a minor, kindly proceed to your preferred branch to open a Right Start account.

This service is exclusively designed for new customers who have never held an account with Republic Bank. To open an account as an existing Republic Bank customer, kindly proceed to your preferred branch to facilitate such requests.

Absolutely! Unemployed persons, including those who are students, retired, or homemakers, can open an e-Free deposit account using RepublicOnboard. We strive to be inclusive and welcome individuals from all employment backgrounds to experience the convenience of our digital banking services.

Absolutely! Self-employed individuals who do not operate a listed business can open an e-Free account via RepublicOnboard. Listed businesses include Real Estate Agents, Motor Vehicle Agents, Gaming Houses, Pool Betting, National Lotteries, On-Line Betting Games, Jewellery Business, Private Member’s Club, Attorneys-at-Law, Accountants or other persons performing the functions of an Accountant or other Independent Legal Professionals, Art Dealers, Trust and Company Service Providers. To open an account for your listed businesses, kindly proceed to your preferred branch to facilitate such requests.

Customers, who currently pay taxes in countries besides Trinidad and Tobago, unfortunately cannot be onboarded via RepublicOnboard. To open an account kindly proceed to your preferred branch to facilitate such requests.

Customers who are PEP, i.e., persons that currently hold a position in public office or is an immediate family member (spouse, parent, sibling, child/stepchild or chose personal/professional associate) of a person holding a position in public office, unfortunately cannot be onboarded via RepublicOnboard. To open an account kindly proceed to your preferred branch to facilitate such requests.

A smart device (with a camera) will be required to complete the online application. The camera is used to capture necessary identification documents, customer’s selfie and verify the customer’s identity.

Opening an e-Free deposit account online can be a relatively quick process. Once all the necessary documents are available, the entire process can take minutes to complete.

All customers wishing to open an e-Free deposit account through RepublicOnboard need to have the
following:

  • A valid email address
  • A valid Trinidad & Tobago phone number (with access to WhatsApp for a video call)
  • A device with a working camera to capture a selfie and relevant documents
  • Valid Trinidad & Tobago National IDs, such as National Identification Card, Passport and Drivers Permit
    (If a DP is utilized, a secondary form of ID will be required)
  • Recent utility bill (No more than 6 months old)
  • Letter of authorization or lease agreement (If utility bill is not in their name)
  • For employed persons, a job letter or pay slip is also required (No more than 6 months)
  • For self-employed persons, any one (1) of the following is also required:

    - Projected Cash Flow

    - Receipts, Contracts, Lease Agreements

    - Financial Statement

If you fall under multiple customer types, you can randomly select any one of the types to continue with your application process.

Yes, if you don’t have all your documents at hand when applying for your e-Free deposit account online, you can save and exit the application once you have received an email with your application ID. This application ID, together with another selfie for verification purposes, can be used to return to a saved application. Please note that an application will only be saved for seven (7) calendar days, after which you will have to re-start the process.

Once you have saved and exited your application, an automated email would be sent to the email address entered during the application process detailing your application ID. This application ID, together with another selfie for verification purposes, can be used to return to a saved application.
