You can receive up to 50 days' interest free credit once your credit card balance is paid in full by the payment due date for two consecutive months.

Who and what is covered?

As a Republic Bank International Visa Business Credit Card cardholder, you, your spouse and your dependent children under 23 years of age will each be insured automatically up to US$250,000 against accidental bodily injuries that are the sole cause of death and dismemberment arising from an accident that occurs during an insured journey. A trip is considered an insured journey if: (a) the full travel fare has been purchased with a valid International Visa Card (b) it is outside your country of residence (c) the maximum duration of any one trip is no more than 60 days

The coverage of an insured journey begins when you disembark from the common carrier at the destination of your insured journey (as designated on your ticket) and ends when you board the common carrier for departure (as designated on the return portion of your ticket).

This insurance does not provide common carrier coverage during travel to and from an insured journey. This coverage is meant to complement and not duplicate the CommonCarrier coverage on your International Visa Card.


What do I need to be eligible?

You must possess a valid and active Republic Bank International Visa Business Credit Card and use it to purchase the entire travel fare(s).

Your Republic Bank International Visa Business Credit Card gives you peace of mind and saves you money by providing this free insurance coverage every time you use your card to rent a car.


What are the benefits and who is covered?

When you use your Republic Bank International Visa Business Credit Card to book a car and pay the full price of the rental, you are covered by this insurance. To access this coverage, you must decline the Collision Damage Waiver (CDW/LDW) or similar coverage offered by the car rental company in its rental agreement.

The Auto Rental Insurance covers up to the full cost of repair or replacement of a rental vehicle in the event of:

  • damage due to collision or theft of the vehicle
  • malicious vandalism against the car
  • documented valid loss-of-use charges imposed by the car rental company

This coverage applies anywhere in the world, including your country of residence in Latin America and the Caribbean (where allowed by local laws) and will be in effect while the vehicle is in the possession of any authorised driver specifically mentioned in the car rental agreement. Coverage will expire as soon as the rented vehicle is returned to the car rental company or 31 days after the date of rental.

Coverage also applies to car rentals that are redeemed with points generated through Visa card loyalty programmes, provided all taxes and surcharges are paid with the Republic Bank International Visa Business Credit Card.


What types of rental vehicles are covered?

Most rental automobiles are covered, including some luxury vehicles such as BMW and Mercedes Benz. If you have any questions regarding a specific vehicle, call the Visa Customer Service Center.


What is the first thing I should do if I am involved in an accident or the rental car is stolen?

Speak to the car rental company and be sure to obtain a copy of all documents related to the accident or theft, including the accident report form, a copy of the car rental agreement (front and back), police report (if any) and any other pertinent documents.


What do I need to do to submit a claim to Visa?

You must notify Visa within 30 days or your claim will not be processed. In addition to all documents indicated above, you must submit proof that the full price of the car rental was paid with the Republic Bank International Visa Business Credit Card.


Visa does not provide insurance. Insurance is provided by third parties. For definitive information about the scope and limitations of each insurance product, please refer to the policy issued by the insurer.

   How do I make a claim?
  1. Notify Visa within 30 days

  3. Submit proof that the full price of the car rental was paid with the Visa International Business Card.
