3DSecure

3D Secure is a service provided by both Visa and Mastercard which acts as a method of authentication, to enhance the security of online transactions for all credit card owners. It allows only the cardholder to use the card when shopping online.

*This service is available only on 3D Secure merchant sites.

While making an online payment the impact of 3D Secure should be minimal as the process will take less than two minutes to complete. The cardholder will be prompted to select a method of receiving a One-Time Password (OTP) or verification code, via SMS or e-mail. The OTP will be sent to the mobile phone number or e-mail address the bank has on record for the cardholder, which they simply enter in the space provided and proceed.

A one-time password (OTP) is a password that is valid for only one login session or transaction, on a computer system or other digital devices.

The transaction will fail after three (3) attempts of an incorrect password, thereafter you will be prompted to contact our Customer Service department at 627-3348.

The password will be valid for eleven (11) minutes once received. Upon expiration a second OTP can be requested by clicking the ‘Resend’ link. A maximum of three (3) OTP’s can be requested before the cardholder is advised that the authentication has failed, and he/she should contact the Customer Service department at 627-3348.

No registration is required. This feature will be automatically enabled on your card.

Please ensure that the Bank has your updated mobile phone number and e-mail address as the OTP will be sent to the mobile number or e-mail address on our records.

3D Secure provides added security to you the cardholder, while using your Visa/Mastercard credit card to make payments online. A private OTP means added protection against unauthorized use of your card when you make payments online.

There is no cost associated with the activation and use of this service.

If a merchant uses the 3D Secure protocol, you will see the Verified by Visa or Mastercard SecureCode/Mastercard Identity Check logo on their website.

If you need to change your mobile number or email address at a later date, you can complete a general request form online or in branch.
