The 2026 Republic Bank Junior Golf Open Championship Officially Tees Off

Port of Spain, Trinidad, April 1, 2026: The 2026 edition of the Republic Bank Junior Golf Open Championship Media Launch took place on Tuesday March 31 at the Millenium Lakes Golf and Country Club in Trincity.

From Tuesday April 7 to Thursday April 9, approximately one hundred (100) young golfers are set to take the course, bringing both fierce competition and inspiring sportsmanship to this year’s championship.

Hosted in partnership with the Trinidad and Tobago Golf Association (TTGA), the 3-day tournament will feature talented male and female players, aged 6 to 18, each showcasing exceptional skills, discipline, and passion for the game. For the past 25 years, Republic Bank, through its Power to Make a Difference programme, has partnered with the Trinidad and Tobago Golf Association (TTGA) to support this flagship event. This collaboration is a strong demonstration of the Bank’s commitment to youth development and the growth of sport across Trinidad and Tobago.

Shanda Whiteman, Senior Manager of Shared Services Division at Republic Bank, emphasized the importance of providing platforms for young talent to thrive. “At Republic Bank, we wholeheartedly believe that our youths have the power to make a difference.” She went on to say, “Opportunities like this allow them to stretch their potential, keep their eyes on the fairway ahead, and rise to every challenge with confidence. The Republic Bank Junior Golf Open Champion continues to serve as a launchpad for future golf champions through fostering healthy competition, discipline, and resilience to ensure that every participant leaves as a confident and empowered golfer and individual.
