Caribbean Junior Golfers Compete at the Republic Bank Junior Golf Open Championships

Port of Spain, Trinidad, April 4, 2023: Over 100 junior golfers from throughout the region have registered to compete in the Republic Bank Junior Golf Open Championships. The 3 day tournament, which commenced on April 3, at Brechin Castle Golf Course, includes participants from Barbados, Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago.

The annual event which showcases the region’s next generation of golfing talent, allows junior golfers to compete within comparable categories of age and/or experience. The tournament categories are as follows:
Boys & Girls 54 Holes: Ages 11-13 | 14-15 | 16-18
Boys & Girls: 3 Holes, 6 Holes, 9 Holes
Boys & Girls: Drive, Chip and Putt

The competition will continue until April 5th, 2023, where a closing ceremony will take place to distribute tokens to all participants and prizes to the winning individuals in each category.

Republic Bank has sponsored the Junior Golf Open Championships for over 20 years, in partnership with the Trinidad and Tobago Golf Association. Under the Bank’s Power to Make a Difference programme, this initiative provides a platform for young, aspiring golfers to gain exposure and build their skills, as well as to promote the sport and inspire the next generation of golfers.
