Habitat for Humanity Trinidad and Tobago Launches 'Let’s Open the Door Campaign at UWI St. Augustine

St Augustine, Trinidad, April 30, 2026: Habitat for Humanity® Trinidad and Tobago officially launched its “Let’s Open the Door” campaign with a dynamic campus activation at the Learning Resource Centre (LRC) Greens at The University of the West Indies (UWI), St. Augustine Campus on Monday, April 27, 2026.

The event marked the beginning of a national awareness and engagement initiative designed to highlight the importance of safe, climate-resilient housing, while celebrating decades of Habitat’s impact across Trinidad and Tobago.

The activation brought together students, faculty, and staff in an interactive setting that fostered meaningful engagement and dialogue about housing challenges and solutions. Attendees were invited to learn more about Habitat’s work, explore opportunities for volunteerism, and understand how partnerships continue to drive sustainable change in communities.

A key highlight of the event was the participation of Ms. Michelle Joseph-Dindial, Branch Sales Manager, UWI, Republic Bank, one of Habitat TT’s valued corporate partners. The representative ceremonially signed a symbolic “door” installation, an integral feature of the campaign demonstrating the bank’s continued commitment to supporting Habitat’s mission. The door serves as a powerful visual representation of opportunity, security, and hope for families in need of decent housing.

Throughout the activation, participants engaged with immersive displays and campaign elements designed to raise awareness of Habitat’s programs, while also recognizing the vital contributions of donors and partners who have supported the organization’s work over the years.

Speaking on the initiative, a representative from Habitat for Humanity® Trinidad and Tobago noted that the “Let’s Open the Door” campaign is not only a celebration of the organization’s legacy, but also a call to action for individuals and institutions to play a role in opening doors."

The campaign will continue with a series of activations and engagements across both islands, inviting the public to participate, contribute, and help open doors to brighter futures for families in need.
