Republic Bank and The Cropper Foundation’s First Teen Writers’ Workshop

Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, Wednesday August 19, 2015: The Cropper Foundation, in collaboration with Republic Bank, hosts their first Teen Writer’s Workshop. The Workshop began on Saturday, August 15, 2015 and will run for 8 days, closing on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at the Toco Foundation Community Centre, Cumana.

15 teenagers were selected to participate in this workshop, which consists of several activities targeted to develop their creative writing skills in poetry and fiction. The moderators for the programme are Dr. Merle Hodge and Professor Funso Aiyejina, both, formerly of the University of the West Indies’ Department of Liberal Arts.

Participants will also be given personal writing time, to implement what was learnt at the day’s workshops. The closing ceremony will be held this Saturday, August 22, 2015 at the Toco Foundation Community Centre.

Republic Bank is proud to be a part of this literacy boosting initiative among our nation’s youth, through the Power to Make a Difference Programme.
