Port of Spain, Trinidad September 9, 2021 – Republic Bank is once again partnering with local online learning platform, pennacool.com and the Ministry of Education to donate tablets to schools across Trinidad and Tobago.

This donation comes as a continuation of the Ministry of Education’s ‘Adopt-a-School’ programme, a call to action by the Ministry, for corporate entities across Trinidad and Tobago to lend assistance to students and schools in need of devices to facilitate online classes. As the new school year begins, the Bank had no hesitation in continuing to lend support, it is hoped that this donation of the tablets and Bluetooth keyboards will allow students who have been facing challenges with online learning to have improved access to their virtual classrooms.

At the official handing over ceremony held at the Ministry of Education earlier today, General Manager, Group Marketing and Communications, Karen Tom Yew Jardine said, “I can say emphatically that Republic Bank is very happy and privileged to support the admirable work of the pennacool.com team and by extension the Ministry of Education. In its purest form, our support is a portrait of striving towards something better and the pursuit of joining forces with like-minded individuals to build successful societies, both objectives of our Power to Make a Difference programme.”

Further to this, as the COVID-19 pandemic has significantly increased the demand for online educational content, Republic Bank has strengthened its ongoing partnership with pennacool.com; facilitating the expansion of the website’s content to provide learning resources for Standards 1-3 along with a myriad of other features and benefits, such as self-correcting assessments and prizes for students.

Republic Bank’s donation of new tablets and our partnership with pennacool.com, perfectly represents our commitment to the investment in the youth of our nation and the promise that no child will be left behind.
