Republic Bank National Primary Schools Water Polo League Launch

Port of Spain, Trinidad, May 13, 2024: The Republic Bank National Primary Schools’ Water Polo League was officially launched on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at the Diego Martin Community Centre. The league aims to promote the sport of water polo among primary school students and provide them with an opportunity to showcase their skills and talents in a competitive environment.

The launch event featured a series of exhibition matches between participating schools, showcasing the excitement and intensity of water polo. Students and spectators alike were treated to a thrilling display of athleticism and teamwork, highlighting the potential of the young athletes in the league.

Speaking at the launch event, Michelle Johnson, Marketing Manager-SME/Business Segments, Republic Bank expressed the bank’s commitment to supporting youth development through sports and commended the schools and participants for their dedication and passion for the sport. She stated “We at Republic Bank aim to provide a platform that empowers you, our athletes to reach your fullest potential.” The Bank's sponsorship of the league aims to provide the necessary resources and guidance to help nurture the next generation of water polo champions.

As the league gets underway, teams from primary schools across the western side of the country will compete in a series of matches leading up to the grand finals. The league promises to be a platform for young athletes to develop their skills, build character, and foster a love for the sport of water polo.
