Port-of-Spain, Trinidad, April 11, 2025 - Under the auspices of Republic Bank’s Power to Make a Difference (PMAD) corporate social responsibility programme, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) from across Trinidad and Tobago have benefited from a dynamic and impactful forum. “PMAD Partners Connect”, held on April 10, 2025 at Republic House, focused on enhancing the capacity of NGOs and building technical skills among their personnel. The carefully curated event brought together a diverse group of NGO professionals for a day of collaborative learning, networking, and knowledge-sharing.

Designed to address the evolving needs of the NGO sector by providing practical training and fostering strong connections, PMAD Partners Connect featured a range of interactive workshops and sessions covering critical areas such as transparency and good governance, volunteering and safeguarding, branding and reputation management, electronic payment solutions and practical strategies to stay energised and focused when leading a NGO. Key speakers for the event included Donna Jack-Hill, Chair of the Trinidad and Tobago Transparency Institute, Jennifer Massiah, Director, Habitat for Humanity and Leah de Souza, Talent Development and Workplace Performance Improvement Consultant. In addition, the participants were introduced to a new digital partners’ directory, designed and developed by one of the Bank’s long-standing PMAD partners, Restore A Sense of I Can.

"The goal of PMAD Partners Connect was to create a vibrant environment where NGOs could not only acquire valuable technical skills but also build meaningful relationships and learn from each other's experiences," said Reena Gopaul, Manager, Group Brand Management at Republic Bank. "We believe that by fostering collaboration and providing access to practical training, we can collectively strengthen the impact and sustainability of the vital work being done by NGOs in our communities."

The format of PMAD Partners Connect actively encouraged participation and peer-to-peer learning. Sessions incorporated group activities, interactive learning, and open discussions, allowing attendees to share best practices and overcome common challenges. Networking opportunities were integrated throughout the day, providing a platform for NGOs to forge new partnerships and explore potential collaborations.
